Hi, I’m Naomi, an Italian Interpreter and Translator.

I’m a native Italian, born and raised in Trieste, a beautiful city on the Mediterranean. My passion for languages began early with eight years of English studies in school, complemented by private classes, specialized courses, and ongoing training to refine my skills. I’ve been living and working in the United States for the past eight years, transitioning into the language industry as an interpreter and later expanding into translation, proofreading, and editing.
I believe open communication is essential to understanding my clients’ needs, and I find this important in every setting. I love to learn, grow, and attend training to keep developing as a professional, but I also enjoy growing as a person. In my free time, I find joy in music and photography. Also, I truly enjoy volunteering as much as I can with my local community, and experiencing that true happiness comes from giving and not receiving.

You might be curious about a few things, so let me share a little more about myself!
Q: Do you speak any languages other than English?
A: Yes, I do. Besides being fluent in English and Romanian, I have a basic understanding of French and Italian Sign Language. However, I specialize in English because it allows me to provide the highest quality results. That’s why I offer services in this language, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Q: Why did you choose to get certified with CCHI?
A: I chose CCHI because it administers a National, Valid, Credible, Vendor-Neutral Certification Program for all healthcare interpreters. CCHI offers certification to interpreters of all languages, including Italian. CCHI’s National Healthcare Interpreter Registry allows any healthcare administrator, employer, or contractor of interpreters to verify my certification status.
Q: How do you balance professional development with your work?
A: Since professional development is a priority for me, I regularly make time in my schedule to attend webinars and courses. Thankfully, many are available online, so location is never a problem. Some of the webinars and courses I attended in the second semester of 2024 include “Interpreting for Medical Research” from Boston Medical Center, “Remote Interpreting in Pediatric Therapy Settings” by CHIA, and the “Navigating Language Industry Evolution” (Winter Edition) by LEO (Linguist Education Online). I also recently attended medical specialty courses in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Cardiology, both sponsored by VOYCE. I take a mandatory HIPAA course annually to ensure compliance with regulations.
Q: What is your experience as an interpreter?
A: I began my career as an interpreter in 2019, receiving extensive training and working in a wide range of industries: Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911. I’ve handled over 4,500 calls and specialized in Healthcare, gaining experience in OB/GYN, Physical Therapy, Emergency Care, Pre-op and Post-op Care, Pharmacy, Pediatrics, Palliative Care, Mental Health, and Oncology, among other specialties.
